Once again, a two-year-old Soldier Hollow progeny made headlines when Roettgen stud’s Dia Del Sol scored in the €200,000 Ferdinand Leisten-Memorial on the first race day of Baden-Baden’s Sales & Racing Festival. The Soldier Hollow-colt, who impressed with his professional manner even before the race, ran a fantastic race from the back and secured a victory by half a length due to his long-drawn speed. Adrie de Vries was in the irons for Heumar-based trainer Markus Klug.
Dia Del Sol is the second foal of Roettegen’s Listed winner Diatribe (Tertullian), a daughter of the Gr.2-winning three-year-old champion Diacada (Cadeaux) whose dam is the two-year-old champion Diasprina (Aspros). |
